PLANT PHYSIOLOGY

PLANT PHYSIOLOGY

Our plant physiologists work in parallel with our AI and robotics team. Together they combine decades of experience in traditional farming, vertical, hydroponics and agronomy with the latest technology to monitor our plants 24/7.

Plant physiologists work in hand in hand with our patented technology for what we call data-driven cultivation. That means our growers are able create the ideal environment for the plants to ensure the best tasting and nutritiously dense yield. This includes analyzing and controlling all aspects within our fully enclosed cells such as temperature & humidity levels, Co2, nutrient uptake, lighting and much more. This is done through sensors that are deployed at key locations across the growing cells for constant analysis.

Our agronomists also partner with local breeders and propagators in each of the countries in which we operate to carefully choose the best locally cultivated varieties for our smart farms. Our strawberry variety in the UK has been developed in partnership with a leading breeder and propagated for the first time hydroponically in a local nursery to ensure robust root development. After which it was transported to our smart farm facility, combing both traditional and smart farming techniques.
