OUR STORY

HOW DID WE

START?

After years of research and development, SMARTKAS was founded in the Netherlands in 2020 with the vision to solve world hunger. The agritech enterprise operates a fully automated, sustainable agricultural process that relies on renewable sources to produce food without pesticides.

The team brings together an experienced group of innovators in the fields of smart agriculture together with equity and joint venture partners, tech suppliers, contractors and technology providers.

In just two years, SMARTKAS has tried and tested its first demo farms and launched full scale production facilities in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Brazil and, opened a dedicated robotics and AI headquarters in Hungary.

Technology

POWERED BY CLEAN

& GREEN ENERGY

By finding strategic locations we utilize renewable sources of energy to power our smart farms, which in combination with self-sustaining irrigation system, makes SMARTKAS truly unique.

ZERO EMISSION

CO2 SYSTEM

In the SMARTKAS smart farm we carefully microdose plants with the right amount of CO2. Because of this innovative solution, we can recycle the excess and drastically reduce our carbon footprint.

PREMIUM QUALITY

& TASTE

We grow the best premium varieties without using pesticides and soil. The growing process is completely airtight and fully automated, which means our crops do not need to be washed before consumption.

AUTOMATED,

24/7/365 GROWING

Relying on artificial intelligence, robotic vision and a data driven growing process, the SMARTKAS smart farms can be operated completely unmanned and automated.

50+ VARIETIES

In addition to cultivating leafy greens, berries and tomatoes SMARTKAS smart farms can also grow up to 50 different varieties, fruits, vegetables and herbs included.

WATER POSITIVE

Irrigation System

SMARTKAS farms not only recycle 95% of the circulating supply of water, but also co-generate an extra 5% water from rain and humidity, making our installation water positive.
